“Sonnymoon For Two” is a 12 bar blues written by the great tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins.
This is a very common blues and is a great one to have in your repertoire. The melody is a very simple idea but makes for a great blues to play at a jam session, add harmony, or make an arrangement. Basically the melody goes down a Bb minor pentatonic scale. Be sure to check out recordings to hear where the hits are during the head. The play-along does not demonstrate this! Always check out the recordings and never base your learning off of one resource.

“Sonnymoon For Two” is most commonly played in Bb.
