“Au Private” was written in 1951 by the great Charlie Parker.

 

This bebop tune is a 12 bar blues in the key of F. It’s a nice tune to add to your repertoire, and is commonly played at jam sessions and club dates. The changes are not straight blues changes, but they are more straightforward than some other blues heads that “Bird” wrote, such as Blues for Alice.

Hey i must thank you very much, this site has been soo helpful to me in learning all the tunes i got to know to get out there and start playing on some jam sessions and hopefully get some work at some point in time. Its very hard to find good backing tracks, and you guys have them, and keep on making new ones, thank you soo much.
