“Along Came Betty” was written by one of the greatest jazz composers, saxophonist Benny Golson.
This tune has a lot of interesting harmonic movement, which allows soloists plenty of opportunity for creativity when improvising. The most famous recording of this song is from Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers’ album, “Moanin”. Be sure to check this recording out!
